In this article, Björn Fagerdahl, CEO of EcoGuard, shares how the value “We lead” is reflected in the company’s everyday culture and ways of working. At EcoGuard, leadership isn’t reserved for titles or roles – it’s a mindset that shapes how people work, collaborate, and grow together. The company’s values, originally crafted by its founders in 2010, were never meant to sit on a wall. They were designed to guide everyday decisions, from customer interactions to internal teamwork.

Today, that spirit lives on. Whether it’s supporting a colleague, stepping up to solve a challenge, or simply showing care in how we communicate, leadership is something everyone is encouraged to practice. It’s about walking the talk – creating an atmosphere where people feel empowered to succeed and supported to grow.

Across teams, this value shows up in many ways. Managers lead by example, but so do individuals who take initiative and share their knowledge. Internal training programs, many developed by EcoGuard’s own experts, help build skills at every level. These trainings aren’t just about theory – they focus on real challenges and provide practical tools that help team improve how they work and find smarter ways to solve problems.

Leadership also means listening. When teams face high workloads, action is taken – whether that’s hiring new talent or adjusting priorities. Respect for individual needs is reflected in flexible work arrangements and thoughtful office design. It’s about creating space for people to do their best work, in the way that works best for them.
