In this article, Head of Supply Chain Sami Häkkinen shares how the value "we care" is reflected in the day-to-day work of the operations team.

At Fidelix, responsibility isn’t a separate initiative—it’s embedded in everything the operations unit does. Caring is seen in the way people look out for one another and take pride in the results of their work.

In a hands-on and physically demanding environment, safety plays a central role in taking responsibility. It's actively promoted: team meetings cover both past incidents and observations that can help improve safety. Metrics—like the number of reported safety observations—help track progress and guide development.

For team leads, caring means being present, paying attention, and listening. The goal is to create a culture where employees feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and ideas for improvement. This kind of development is a shared, ongoing effort.

Responsibility and quality are also reflected in the attitude toward work. Everyone in the team takes ownership of what they do. Feedback is discussed openly and used as a tool for continuous improvement. Development isn’t seen as a one-time achievement but as an ongoing part of daily work—including communication and leadership skills.

Caring extends to customers as well. The team is known for being quick, flexible, and service-minded. Customer feedback shows that even in high-pressure situations, the team delivers on time without compromising on quality.

There's also room for autonomy. While roles and tasks are clearly defined, everyone has the freedom to find the best way to get the job done. This supports not only initiative and responsibility, but also individuality—at Fidelix, no one is expected to fit into a mold. What matters most is a genuine desire to do good work, support others, and take responsibility for the outcome.
